“Deer’s national park” is located 16kms away from Hyderabad and popularly known by name “Mahavir Harina Vanasthali” at Vanasthalipuram. The park was set up to attract more tourists to the capital city and forest department has taken up the initiate of preserving the precious heritage and at the same time to rehabilitate it. The best part of the year to visit the park is during the season of monsoon were in one can find astonishing golden as well as white flowers of different varieties of trees on the lush green carpet of grass.

“Deer’s park” was named in commemoration of 2500th birth anniversary of Mahavir. This park was established in the year 1975 and is spread over an area of 15 kilometers, which got its name as private hunting round for former rulers of Nizams in Hyderabad.

One can find different species of animals like mongooses, Black Buck, wild boar, porcupines, cheetahs, apart from deer’s, the added attraction to this park is its different species birds like peacocks, pond herons, quails, cormorants, kingfishers and many more that land up every year. The Deer’s park is the ideal place to find natural wealth that includes Acacias, Neem, Bauhinias, Buteas and a mixture of thorny species of scrub. At “Mahavir Harina Vanasthali National Park”, there is set up of observation towers for viewing the animals and a van is provided to carry visitors inside the park to view the animals closer, for this you can avail safari facility provided between 9:30 to 5:30 p.m.
