“Salar Jung Museum”, one of the greatest museums of India is situated in capital city of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad and was established on 16th December, 1951. Government of India took the initiative of saving the property of Salar Jung III that led to establishment of best museum of all time in Hyderabad and in the year 1958, Pandit Jawarharlal Nehru opened the museum to the public. “Salar Jung Museum”- the art museum of Hyderabad has an exquisite collection of priceless articles that include Ivory, Marble sculptures etc.
Mir Yousuf Ali Khan, known as Salar Jung III, did the major part of the collections, however the collection was initiated by his father Nawab Mir Laiq Ali Khan, popularly known as Salar Jung II as well as his grandfather Nawab Mir Turab Ali Khan i.e. Jung I.

“Salar Jung Museum”, the great place to explore treasure of art and has amazing collection of over 43000 art objects, 9000 manuscripts, 47000 printed books, traditional, Indian paintings, Persian carpets, Chinese porcelain, Aurangazeb's sword, daggers belonging to Queen Noor Jehan, Emperor Jahangir and Shah Jahan, knick-knacks are anticipating for you to behold and admire. The best part of the museum is its clock room, which is considered as one of the best galleries that you can find with in India. It has a compilation of more than 300 clocks and other centre of attraction of the museum is its musical clock, sold by Cook and Kelvy of England.
