Qutub Shahi Tombs

“Qutb Shahi Tombs” are the most famous landmark of seven Qutub Shahi rulers at Ibrahim Bagh in Hyderabad and is located near “Golconda” fort. “Qutb Shahi Tombs” are characterized for the pretension display of arches, domes, minarets and columns. Most part of the complex provide you with awesome sights with the perfect blend of Indian and Persian architectural forms, constructed in gray granite decorated with exquisite ornamentation. The “Qutb Shahi Tombs” known as the graceful structures with intricately carved stonework are bounded by landscaped gardens. The tombs are furnished with carpets, chandeliers and velvet canopies on silver poles. During the Qutb Shahi period, these tombs were held in such great veneration that criminals who took refuge were granted pardon. |

| However, after their sovereignty, the “Qutb Shahi Tombs” were abandoned, until Sir Salar Jung III planned their restoration in the early 19th century. A beautiful garden was laid out with support of a compound wall constructed across the tombs. These tombs are not only dedicated to seven Qutub Shahi kings but also for the relatives and nobles who served them faithfully. |
