“Indira Park” is a newly built park located close to Lower Tank bund of Hyderabad city, which is spread over 76 acres of lush green area, and it lies beside the Hussain Sagar. The park was named after former prime minister of India, Indira Gandhi. Late Faqruddin Ahmed, who served as the president of India in the year 1975, laid the foundation stone for this park and it was in the year 1978 that the Indira Park was opened for the public. Melodious dancing fountains, commercial nursery and rose garden are the added attractions for the park. Here you can also take a lazy boat ride round in the quaint boating pond. Small tea-stalls and stores are ready to serve you with variety of snacks and other eatables.

“Indira Park” soon became the best place for a picnic spot to localities and tourist spot for tourist to hangout within the twin cities. The park has sandalwood trees and date palms in abundance.
