The garden sprawls over 120 acres and area is divided in to 19 sectors or 'Vanams', few parts of it are restricted and other wings are open for public. Here you can find various collections of medicinal plants, fruit and timber trees, ornamental plants, bamboos, palm trees and aquatic plants.

“Indira Park” is a newly built park located close to Lower Tank bund of Hyderabad city, which is spread over 76 acres of lush green area, and it lies beside the Hussain Sagar. The park was named after former prime minister of India, Indira Gandhi. Late Faqruddin Ahmed, who served as the president of India in the year 1975, laid the foundation stone for this park and it was in the year 1978 that the Indira Park was opened for the public. Melodious dancing fountains, commercial nursery and rose garden are the added attractions for the park. Here you can also take a lazy boat ride round in the quaint boating pond. Small tea-stalls and stores are ready to serve you with variety of snacks and other eatables.

“Lumbini Park” is another scenic park located adjacent to Hussain Sagar Lake, Hyderabad and geographically is in the heart of the city. It spreads over 7.5 acres of land and has a wonderful lake within the park. This park was constructed in the year 1994 and was the part of Buddha Poornima project under taken by Hyderabad Urban Development Authority. As the park lies just opposite to monolithic Buddha statue, it was named after the birthplace of Buddha.
