The Khairtabad Ganesh idol is the largest idol in the world with averaging to 50 feet and is installed during the Ganesh chaturthi festival. Ganesh Chaturthi is most sacred festival of Lord Ganesha and occurs in August or September. Apart from Jama Masjid, the oldest and biggest mosque in India is Mecca Masjid and is 100 yards away from the famous Charminar of Hyderabad city. Mecca Masjid is known for its capacity and can accommodate 10,000 worshippers in the mosque at a time. The interesting fact behind its name is that the bricks were brought from Mecca by Muhammed Quli Qutub Shah and inducted them into the construction of the central arch of the masjid and hence got its name as Mecca Masjid.

Apart from Mecca Masjid and Jama Masjid, the other famous and attractive mosque of Hyderabad built in Indo Islamic and Qutubshahi style of architecture is Toli Masjid and it is located at Caravan, near Purana Pul. The other name given to Toli Masjid is Damdi Masjid.

It was believed that in the reign of Sultan Abdullah, the Toli Masjid was built in the year 1671. Later on the holy shrine was divided into two halls comprising of five arched openings at the outer side and the inner section has three arched openings.
