Mughal Emperor “Aurangazeb” conquered the Muslim state of Deccan-“Golconda”

1713

New Subedar was appointed for six provinces of Deccan and Faujdar of Karnataka named-“Nizam-ul-Mulk”.

1724

The Muslim state of Deccan-“Golconda” regained its independence in this year, later came under British territory from 1798

1725

Nizam-ul-Mulk was granted the title of “Asaf Jah” by Emperor Muhammed Shah.

1734

Nizam Ali Khan, the fourth son of Nizam-ul-Mulk was born on 24th February of this year

1738

Nadir Shah, who invaded India during this period, handed over empire of India to Nizam-ul-Mulk.

1748

Death of ablest statesmen-“Asif Jah” at Burhanpur at the age of 78

1750

“Nasir Jung” was shot dead in an encounter with the troops of French at Arcot and throne was ascended by “Muzafar Jung”.

1751

“Muzafar Jung”, the successor of “Nasir Jung”, was killed in a fight and “Salabat Jung” was appointed as new Subedar of Deccan.

1753

Mustafanagar, Rajamundri, Ellur, and Chicacole are four districts which were assigned to French troops.

1756

War took place between British and French troops, French were made to leave “Northern Circars” after their defeat in hands of British force

1759

French rule comes to an end, an agreement was made by “Salabat Jung” with British to grant Masulipatnam and other districts.

1762

“Salabeth Jung” dies and he was succeeded by his brother “Nizam Ali Khan”

1779

John Holland was sent as an envoy to Hyderabad on behalf of British.

1798

Treaty was signed between British and Nizam that led to British influence in Hyderabad.

1803

At the age of 72, Nizam Ali Khan dies after a long reign and throne was ascended by “Sikander Jah”.

1804

Hyderabad state received water supply through the reservoir named after “Mir Alam” (Prime Minister of Hyderabad) and construction of the reservoir was completed by 8th June, 1806.

1806

British Subsidiary Force was established by Col. Lang after the treaty of 1798.

1808

“Mir Alam”, the prime minister of Hyderabad dies.

1809

“Munir-ul-Mulk”, who was the son of “Mir Alam”, was appointed as Minister.

1812

Hyderabad Contingent was established by Raja Chandulal along with Henry Russell

1829

After almost 26 years of reign, “Sikander Jah” dies at the age of 62, later Secunderabad was named after him. Jah was succeeded by his eldest son “Nasir-ud-Dowla”.

1846

For teaching European Medicine, Dr. William Maclean opened Nizam's Medical School now known as “Osmania Medical College”.

1853

Nizam signed a treaty with British named “Berar treaty”.

1854

“Salar Jung” was appointed as the Minister, later on he laid foundation of “Dar-ul-Uloom” for teaching Telugu, Marathi, Arabic, Urdu and English.

1856

“Henry Rocke” was made as Mint Master for newly established Department of Mint and Stamps.

1857

Death of “Nasir-ud-Daula “ and throne was ascended by his eldest son “Mir Tahniath Ali Khan Afzal-ud-daula”,who became the fifth Nizam

1858

Coins with inscription of “Nizamul-Mulk Asaf Jah Bahadur” called as ““Hali Sicca” was introduced. At the same time, new department of Army for Nizam’s was established for which “Henry Rocke” was made the commander-in-chief.

1866

“Mir Mahboob Ali Khan” was born, who was the only son of “Afzal-ud-Dowla”.

1869

After a reign of thirteen years,”Afzal-ud-Daula” died at the age of 43 on 26 February of this year and “Mir Mahboob Ali Khan” was installed as Munsab by “Sir Salar Jung”. At the same in this year, state railway for Nizam was established and first postage stamp was issued.

1872

Foundation for one of the famous Monuments in India-“Falaknuma Palace” was laid by “Nawab Vikarul-Umra Bahadur”.

1874

“Nizam Railway” was opened for traffic after its successful completion

1876

Prohibition of “SATI” was done in the state of Hyderabad

1877

“Salar Jung” laid foundation of “Madrasa-e-Aliya” at Kothi.

1880

Introduction of game of cricket to Hyderabad state by British Army, first postal department was established in this year

1881

“Rashiduddin Khan” who was the member of noble family of “Paigah” dies and an administrator “Shar-ul-Ummul”, who helped “Sir Salar Jung” also passed away.

1883

“Sir Salar Jung”, who also acted as the co-regent for British dies

1884

Jail department, Directorate General of Police was established and other event was that the official language of Hyderabad state was made as “Urdu” from “Persian”.

1886

“Mir Osman Ali Khan” was born at Purani Haveli in state of Hyderabad

1889

The clocks were fixed to four archways of our great monument –“Charminar “.

1890

“Gandhi medical college” of Hyderabad state was built under the supervision and maintenance of noble family “Paighas”.

1892

Five giant bells brought from Italy were attached to St. Joseph's Cathedral, which is now situated in gun foundry area of Hyderabad.

1893

Construction of great palace of Hyderabad--“Falaknuma Palace” was successfully done.

1895

“Sir Ronald Ross Institute” was built, other events that took place in this year were first “Ganesh Utsav” celebrations on a public scale were held in the state and “Saiyad Ḥusain Bilgramī” was appointed tutor to the young prince “Mir Osman Ali Khan”

1897

Ronald Ross challenges Dr.Lewis and visits Chaderghat Hospital in Hyderabad to demonstrate students regarding his discovery of Malaria parasites in the mosquito.

1897

“Falaknuma Palace” was purchased by “Nizam VI” from “Nawab Vikar-ul-Umra”.

1899

“Hyderabad-Godavari Valley Railway” was opened by Nizam of Hyderabad. “Mir Yousuf Ali Khan Salar Jung III” was made prime minister of Hyderabad

1902

“Ronald Ross” was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine and other event was “Lord Curzon” struck a new agreement with the Nizam of Hyderabad

1905

Foundation stone for construction of Public gardens ‘Assembly’ building was laid by “Mir Mahboob Ali Khan Nizam VI”

1906

“Mir Osman Ali Khan” was married to “Dulhan Pasha Begum”, daughter of “Nawab Jahangir Jung”, at Eden Bagh.

1907

“Mir Himayat Ali Khan” was born

1908

Disastrous struck Hyderabad in form of floods in the Musi River.

1910

“Bella Vista”, the royal palace of Nizam was built and in the same year, Hyderabad Electricity Department was established.

1911

“Mir Mahboob Ali Khan” dies at the age of 46 and was succeeded by his “Mir Osman Ali Khan” as Nizam VII.

1913-1914

Agriculture Departments were established

1915

High court building construction started and in the same year, Archaeological Department was created by “Mir Osman Ali Khan”.

1917

“Mir Osman Ali Khan” also founded Osmania University in Hyderabad state.

1918

First matriculation Exam of Osmania University was held.

1919

Construction of High Court building was successfully completed after laying its foundation in the year 1915.

1920

“Osman Sagar Lake” was constructed by building a dam on Moosi River

1922

R.D. National College of “Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board” was originally founded in Hyderabad.

1923

“Hyderabad Public School”, Begumpet was established

1924

Start of Nizam Sagar Project took place during this year

1926

Though first medical college was started as a school in the year 1846,but officially it was made as Gandhi Medical College in this year

1928

Andhra Pradesh State Museum was built by “Mir Osman Ali Khan”, who was the Hyderabad Nizam at that time. In the same year, Water Works department was established.

1929

Hyderabad became the only Nizam’s Team in modern Polo.

1931

The daughter of Abdul Mejid II's was married to son of the last Nizam, “Nawab Imdad Jah Bahadur”.

1931

During this year, the project of Osmania University building was started.

1933

Chaderghat and Hyderabad Municipality was amalgamated into a Corporation in this year, now known as our “Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC)”.

1934

“Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA)” was founded and at the same time, Nizam VII laid the foundation stone of Osmania University buildings at Adikmet in the same year.

1935

Broadcasting Department was established and construction of “Moazzam Jahi” market was also completed in the same year.

1936

The artifacts and gifts of the Nizam’s museum were presented to last Nizam on eve of twenty five years of Nizam’s reign (Silver Jubliee Celebrations).

1945

Commemorative stamp was issued by “Nizam VII” to mark victory of his allies.

1947

Nizam, Osman Ali Khan decided to be an Independent nation and last British Resident, Charles Gordon Herbert leaves Hyderabad.

1947

“Standstill agreement” was signed between Indian Union and Nizam.

1948

Merger of Hyderabad into the Indian Union took place and military rule was imposed that led to end of Asaf Jahi era.

1950

“Mir Osman Ali Khan VII” was made the Rajpramukh of Hyderabad State and remains so upto October, 1956.

1953

“Little Flower High School” was established under the guidance of Rev. Bro. John of God.

1956

“State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH)”, one of the scheduled banks in India and associate bank of State Bank of India (SBI) was established.

1967

Seventh Nizam of Hyderabad, “Mir Osman Ali Khan” dies.

1976

Birla Trust of Hyderabad constructed the shrine made of marbles-“Birla Mandir”.

1988

“Hotel Krishna Oberoi” was opened for Hyderabad, the match between Hyderabad and Kerala was the first ever league match of South Zone in the Ranji Trophy.

1996

“Ramoji Film city” was constructed

1998

IT hub of Hyderabad-“HITEC City” was inaugurated in Madhapur,Hyderabad

2001

“Indian School of Business” was Inaugurated in Hyderabad
