Golconda Fort

Golconda is one among the best fort located in India having historical importance and was built by rulers of kakatiya dynasty in the 13 century. The hill on which the "Golconda" fort is located is about 120 meters high and surrounded by massive crenellated ramparts. One of the fascinating features of this court is its perfectly designed acoustical system by which a handclap sounded at the forts main gates of the grand portico can be heard at the top of the citadel, situated on 300-foot high granite hill.

In those times, The "Golconda" fortress was known for Kohinoor diamonds and for different kinds of diamonds, pearls, jewels and various gems, which were famous all over the planet.
To make it more convenient for visitors to reach this place for conversions of these ornaments and to buy the fabulous jewellary, a road with the stretch of 10km was constructed in the 17th century. Within the "Golconda", fortress researchers believe that there used to be bazaars, temples, soldiers barracks mosques etc. The colossal gates comprises of iron spikes to prevent the fort from invading armies' attacks and also still stays as a symbol of expert constructions.

Finally, in the year 1687, the rule of Qutub shahis reign ended up after their defeat in the hands of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, who almost ruined the "Golconda" fort and the present structure that you can find was that left out after the furious battle.
