Falaknuma Palace


"Falaknuma palace" is one of the beautiful palaces located in Hyderabad, which was built by Nawab Vicar-ul-Umra. The palace is spread across an area of 939712 square meters and is a remarkable edifice, which stands atop of 200 ft high. A famous Italian architect succeeded in transforming the palace in the shape of scorpion with the kitchen and harem quarters facing towards the south.

Italian architect had combined Italian and Tudor architecture to build marvelous piece of art. Later on, Nizam VI purchased the "Falaknuma palace" and used it as royal guesthouse from the year 1897. Now the property belongs to Nawab Mukarramjah Bahadur, the grandson of Nizam VII.
One can find finest treasures accumulated by the Nizam that has its own importance in the history of Hyderabad. "Falaknuma palace" comprises of 220 extravagantly decorated rooms and 22 spacious halls. Apart from rooms and halls, the biggest palace in India has interesting features like largest electrical switchboards in India and the world's largest manually operated organ. In front of the palace, you can locate a perfectly laid garden and the stained windows that allow a spectrum of colors along with the light into the room.
