Charminar


The glory of Hyderabad stays within the great monument build by our renowned rulers and named it as “Charminar “which has its own importance in the history. This spectacular monument was built by Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah, the 5th Qutub Shahi ruler in 1591 in the remembrance to the elimination of a plague epidemic from the capital city-“Hyderabad”. The well-known historical monument -“Charminar” is a remarkable square monument with four minarets.

In those times, the very first floor was used as a madarasa, which was the very first floor and it means as a college. It also has four balconies from where one has a fantastic view of the historic city and its later accretions.

The floor consists of mosque on the western side, you can also even find the clocks over the four archways and these archways were built in the year 1889.

The beautiful monument “Charminar” is in the heart of the capital city-“Hyderabad” and is 7km away from the railway station and about 5km from the bus station. It is more convenient for the visitors to visit this place as you can find excellent transport facilities to reach this symbol of Hyderabad within the twin cities. If we walk towards “Charminar” in the southeast direction, you can find “nizamia unani” hospital and “lad bazaar” within 50m in the east.

Any tourist who visits Hyderabad would first like to the wonderful monument –“Charminar” that has historical importance.
