With the recent inflammatory content allegedly to be the brain child of Pakistani agencies creating another bone of contention between India and Pakistan, the relationship is all set to sour further more.

With Indian cyber sleuths and popular sites like Facebook and Youtube confirming that the morphed pics and other fake messages of the Assam violence was uploaded and spread from Pakistan, Twitter on the other hand have refused to cooperate with the probe and the not be party to the crack down on the inflammatory messages. The Government has threatened to take legal action against Twitter for not cooperating with the probe.

Telecom Secretary R Chandrashekhar has been quoted as saying to media channels that legal action will be slapped against all those sites refusing to co operate with the probe. The morphed video and images had triggered the biggest ever mass exodus of North East people in recent times.

254 websites have faced the axe after they carried such inflammatory messages. Many arrests have been made in Pune, Coimbatore and Bangalore for spreading and forwarding such messages.

Pakistan has refused to take responsibility and said that they will want to have more evidence to substantiate India's claims. Union Home Secretary RK Singh added, "Islamabad is demanding proof that the morphed pictures and hate messages originated in Pakistran. Proof will be handed over soon. A number of sites have been blocked. We have also identified a number of sites which were uploaded from Pakistan."

Communications and Information Technology Minister Sachin Pilot have also been quoted as saying to media channels, "If any platform will be misused, we need to stand back. We have asked the websites to be screened for objectionable content. Facebook and Twitter are good platforms for exchange of ideas, but they must not be misused....every country has the right to ensure that such websites are not misused...we want companies to be responsible to the needs of our society."
