Birla Planetarium

"Birla Planetarium", popularly known as the B M Birla science museum was established in the year 1990. The museum is located near to the panoramic hillock of Naubat Pahad, the Birla Planetarium is a tribute to the enhancements that took place in the science and technology arena since the dawn of civilization. The beautiful sky show presents the mysteries of the Universe and our own solar system in a very appealing manner at Birla Planetarium.
The Archaeology as well as fine arts gallery has a unique collection of archaeological exhibits both excavated and collected, including excavations of Vaddamanu from the period of 100 BC to 200 AD. Other highlights include “Dinosaurium” that has a collection of smaller fossils of dinosaur eggs and fossilized tree trunks. Here you can also find showcased stone sculpture gallery, wood carving gallery and gallery of miniature paintings.

“Birla Planetarium” is outfitted with the most sophisticated technology from Japan and built on Naubat pahad, the sky shows are held on daily basis at different timings and in different languages. The Planetarium is under the control of B. M.Birla Science Center and maintained by them.

English: 11.30 am, 3.45 pm, 6 pm.
Telugu: 10.45 am, 12.15 noon, 3 pm, 4.30 pm, 5.15 pm, 6.45 pm, 8.30 pm.
Hindi: 2.15 pm, 7.30 pm.
Note: Closed on every last Thursday of every month.
